Hello there folks, I recently was sitting at my desk talking to my manager, and we were going over all the possible things I can do on my commute. I have an iPhone so this means music, podcasts, vodcasts, audiobooks, Twitter, Meebo, all the Google services, and oh yeah the rest of the internet at Edge speeds. I also have the Sony E-Reader PRS-500 (the previous version) so I have around 40-50 books, with me, and I had my System's Analysis & Design book from class, and The Watchmen graphic novel. Oh and my laptop, where I could be writing code for classes I am taking or project I am working on, or websites I am currently working on,...
Ok so I think you are starting to see where I am going. I just figured this was normal, my wife often points out that I am a typical Sagittarius male which according to her points to the fact that I get bored and need an unlimited amount of choices. I think the best summary of the type of person I am is the owner of the blog called Rands in Repose where he wrote one of the most interesting, scary and spot on blog's describing my people called, N.A.D.D.. This blog post in about 1200 words has summed up my personality, my technology needs, habits and character flaws. I would like to thank my friend Dossy for pointing me towards this after realizing we were nerds of a feather. In the end, basically it is an admission that I don't consume information like "normal" folks, and this is a confirmation that there are others like me.
All that being said I am going to start using this blog as an exposure of this geeks information overload, and expose all of you to what I am up to more then just a once or twice a month ping. I will be creating new content types for this site, and take it from a blog to more of a everything I am doing portal. I have turned the corner and and am embracing all the things I have wanted to touch, read and do no matter what aspect of knowledge it is. I am planning on doing website use and reviews for desktop, and iPhone, book (and audiobook) reviews from fiction, non-fiction, technology books and graphic novels and comics. And finally development projects, school-related, just for fun, and web site work either design or development aspects (keep an eye out for my new twitter Drupal 5 module writeup soon).
Hope you folks are excited I know I am get back to you soon...
LOL! "Nerds of a feather"
LOL! "Nerds of a feather" must geek together!
I have an incredible attention span--it's just very thinly sliced amongst many, many things at any given time. :-)
